Tom is effective because he’s ready, willing and able to walk several miles in his clients’ shoes. The majority of Tom’s time is spent on senior executive and board level search assignments and assisting clients with a variety of succession planning and talent management issues.
Tom has had extensive, first hand experience working with CEOs and Boards of Directors on the identification, assessment, selection and development of management talent at all levels, in all functions, and across a broad range of businesses. He brings a clear understanding of the linkage between talent and strategy execution to each of his search assignments. His clients also benefit from his unique perspective and understanding of the issue of cultural fit and alignment within the management team.
Tom has over fifteen years of senior executive experience serving as the Chief Human Resources Officer for three industry leading companies: The Sherwin-Williams Company, Office Depot, and Invacare Corporation. In each of these positions, Tom was an officer of the corporation and a member of the executive committee.
Throughout his career, Tom has been active in professional, civic and community organizations including the Urban League, Inroads, and Students in Free Enterprise. He currently serves on the board of regents for Saint Ignatius High School in Cleveland, Ohio. He is on the board of directors for Acco Brands Corporation and is a member of the operating advisory council for Kirtland Capital Partners. His educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Cleveland State University and a Masters of Science in Management degree from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University.
